Modding PS3 With Kmeaw 3.55 to Play Backups

1 – make sure your ps3 is on retail firmware, official playstation firmware….
(if its not then download the official firmware an install from recovery mode)
2 – once your ps3 is on the official fireware download the kmeaw 3.55 CFW

3 – install this firmware the same as the official in step 1 through recovery mode…

4 – once firmware is installed u’ll see 2 new options in your games section…
(app_home/PS3_Game/ and install package files)

5 – now to get backups running on your ps3, you’ll need to install a manager
(such as multiman, rogero, gaia im sure theres more out there, this is just what i tried)

6 – put the pkg files of your choice on a fat32 formatted flash drive an then put it in your ps3 an from
the game section go to install package files…. you then see your pkg files you have on your
flash drive.( if you dont, make sure your flash drive is in fat32 an you pkg files are on the root
of your flash drive.)

7 – once your package files are installed they’ll show up in the games section of the xmb, you can
then start copying your games to your ps3 from the blu-ray drive. if you have games on your computer
then you need to use a ftp program to transfer the games… blackboxftp is the package i installed for this
and some of the backup managers will allow this as well, you’ll just have to enable the option on your manager

8 – you should be able to run your games like this without problems… remember this is a hack an Sony does not
support this… sometimes you may have crashes, or games that will not start.. if you have problems gettin your
games to start then try different methods. you can try to lauch your games from inside the manager, from
the xmb with your /app_home/PS3_Game/ option on the games section, or by putting an actual game in the
console… it will show up as the game you picked from the backup manager. if everything else fails then you
should try changing the eboot file, ive not had to since the new permission fix an lv2 was intergrated, it takes
care of all this for you, but if it dont then try the eboot

NOTES – this CFW worked for me only when updating from the retail 3.55 firmware, it will not work updating from
any other firmwares or other custom firmware, it has to be the Official Sony 3.55 Firmware. Make sure to use the
latest verson of the package files also… they are always tweaking an fixing problems from the managers so this
could cause problems for some ppl getting the games to lauch… latest mulitman is 3.15, you can also update
your multiman from inside
the manager.

When finished, it will place the “Game Title”.ISO on your USB drive or SD card if you chose that option.
Copy that to your computer, and use Nero or IMGBurn to burn the disc to a DVD-R. NOT +R. You can use any program that recognizes .ISO files to burn it also.

BTW, speed of burning HAS NO EFFECT on the quality of the disc. It depends what your computer and or DVD Drive can handle. No matter what anyone says, it does NOT matter. Do the research if you wish.

If you installed Darkcorps on your Wii, then it will read the Backup right through the Disc Channel.
